ADAM TEDESCO
Mania

Iron bird clothed in brocaded robes and jeweled adornments

Carried the well-oiled retinue to ground zero through Teterboro

Randall Savage and Richard Flair reeled around the fountain

Took their dinner in the Russian Tea room

Canvas calloused palms pursed slick blinis

Temple veins pointed to osetra coated tongues, furling

To the beat of the gnash

Beneath them chair linens soiled against their slick bare backs

Under their hard rode spandex

Creaming his cup, placing his spoon upon the saucer

Randall took Richard’s hand into his

Richard sipping, Randall spoke

We all want to be recognized for what we are

Without actually having to be it

Don’t we Richard?

Nagadoches

We started a band

Fucked Flat and Starless

Didn’t know which key to pick

Wiki’d ASSA ABLOY at the Fiddler’s Inn

Wore shirts with ripped out armpits

Bought instruments off Craigslist

Sold’em back for double money

Sang “Sweet Nothing” down on Beale

Called Aunt Ursula for hysterectomy money

Got phone sex gigs

She pitched her voice down

I pitched mine up

She got accepted to medical school

I copped a bag on credit

Went to see my brother

Moved into a shipping container

Got baptized at Barton Springs

Took a Greyhound up to Nashville

Smeared a Twinkie on the window

Met her at a Cracker Barrel

Told her about the dream I had

Where everything worked out OK
