Nikola Tesla Drops a Diss Lecture (Circa Smack URL)

Ayo Thomas Edison, heard you were talking feces.
Word is hydrogen bond if I see you at the Nobel Peace Prize awards?
I'm smacking the flux out your capacitor.

You must have me fucked up
like I don't rep my chemistry set
like I don't keep a bunsen burner on me,
like Tesla won't run up in your lecture about molecular distribution
existing without the presence of matter and be like,
"Yo....  ….  …

I disagree"

You don't know me or my theories
and yeah, we're both top 5 scientist
dead or alive but I'm closer to the finish line

So I know you ain't talk test tubes,
cause I’ll murder you (no premeditated)
Beakers? I got you. So what we talkin tho?
Rhymes? Bars? C'mon b.

I was boys with Mark Twain so you know my pen game
If science had a mixtape the beats would be by Bill Gates,
It’d sound like Albert Einstein meets Outkast, that's atomic bombs over Baghdad,
that's Neil Degrasse Tyson and Michael Eric Dyson ghost written
a séance on wax just to bring me back

And they called you the wizard of Menlo Park?
but you don't want it with the original Tony Stark
you need a better plan, Tesla the baddest bitch
Cause female means Iron Man.

Edison, when I came to this country all I had were these hands,
and the weight of tomorrow in them, I worked for you believing,
you held the same weight in yours.

But you never respected me,
even cheated me out of my due when I fixed your gadgets,
you made them hot intentions,
I made them hot inventions

So I left, signed to Westinghouse records
then we beef’d over the best use of electricity

You did everything in your power to soil my name
even compromised your own beliefs
and helped create the electric chair

to show how dangerous my  idea could be

When the 1st inmate had to be electrocuted
repeatedly before he was finally killed, it was said

"There is the culmination of ten years study,
we live in a higher society from this day"
this day didn't feel like the weight in our hands,
It felt like you made tomorrow a setback,

Now with that… the present was yours
I died penniless due to your smear campaign
but the difference between us is, I died but my work ethic didn’t

I crawled my way here through every doubt,
through every smear you left to my name
and hands my hands are still clean....

my name is still my name
and that's Nikola Tesla
aka South Side Serbia

Edison, the present was yours
but the future was always the weight of these hands
it was always mine
